transport cost saving with packaging

this is obvious but still not always done ! Transport packaging #optimisation is an efficient way for delivering high #cost saving in the supply chain. Designing the right packaging is crucial to save #logistic cost : measure space in the packaging and have a plan to redesign it. I know that some company may say , this sis not in their hand but in the hands of their vendor or suppliers : in this case, why not proposing a matrix of box sizes ( at least optimized for sea containers) per category of products vendors could easily used ? by using the right size, they will also save money.
