unnecessary single-use plastic packaging

The new Australian #packaging #waste targets have been released and seem sensible :
“Problematic and unnecessary single-use plastic packaging will be phased out through design, innovation or introduction of alternatives”.
This is a more sustainable target than just a proposition for single-use plastic ban as requested in Europe. The European ban could have negative consequences > Indeed, not all single -use plastic are “bad” and some single-use plastic can even save our life.
What could be difficult to understand what Australia called "problematic"... I guess it linked to waste management.
The 2025 Australian national packaging waste targets are:
- 100% of all packaging will be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025 or earlier - 70% of plastic packaging will be recycled or composted by 2025 - 30% average recycled content will be included across all packaging by 2025 - Problematic and unnecessary single-use plastic packaging will be phased out through design, innovation or introduction of alternatives
